Through the development and organisation of conferences and seminars, the IJJO creates a meeting space for the exchange of perspectives and knowledge between professionals and experts in multiple disciplines in relation to juvenile justice and the rights of children and young people.
These events seek to tackle relevant issues, examining topics of general interest such as the mental health of young people in conflict with the law, crime prevention, the implementation of international standards in juvenile justice, the development of common strategies to strengthen juvenile justice systems, etc.
Among these events, it is worth highlighting the IJJO’s International Conference in its various editions, which took place until December 2014, and those which were held within the framework of the Continental Councils for Juvenile Justice’s work. These conferences served as a meeting point to examine the local challenges faced in each continent in regards to juvenile justice and exchange knowledge between specialised professionals from this region.
