SAVE THE DATE: Online Conference 'A Europe for all Children: Securing the Present, Building the Future'

The online event will bring together key speakers from the European Union and the Council of Europe who play pivotal roles in the definition of strategies on the rights of the child for both organisations. This discussion is aimed at identifying avenues for the effective implementation of the new EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child and enhancing synergies between the two organisations, particularly in the context of the forthcoming respective Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child which is currently in preparation.

The event will take place on 12 April 2021, from 15:00 to 16:00 (CET), and will include short presentations by the speakers, followed by a Questions & Answers session at the end. The event will be held on the Webex platform (link here) and participants will be able to register and ask questions via the chat function. The event will also be open to the public via live webstreaming on the website of the European Commission (link here) and Facebook (link here(link is external)).

The event will be moderated by the EU Ambassador to the Council of Europe, Meglena Kuneva, and will feature the following speakers:

  • Ms Valeria Setti, European Commission Coordinator for the Rights of the Child
  • Ms Regina Jensdottir, Head of the Children’s Rights Division and Council of Europe Coordinator for the Rights of the Child
